I, my name is Francis, im from Quebec, Canada.
I have receive my WR300 2010 friday. The dealer offer me the possibility to assemble the bike with im. Very funny to see the bike arrive from italy with the Euro 3 spec... The bike arrive with a completly plugged pipe, carb restrictor and many other thing with a completely weird carb jetting. After intall the right part (pipe, jetting, etc) the bike is ready for is first start !. It start on the 3th kick. Just a small try of the bike and i put it in the trailer.
When i arrive to my home, i start the bike again (1st kick) and go to my regular single track spot.
For the break in period, i run the bike on the rich side (440MJ, 45 pilot, gay needle in the middle, #4 slide) + i run 3% of oil instead of 2%.
With that jetting, i have no idle, so i have change the pilot to a 40.
With that, im surprise to find the bike praticly spot on jetting wise !
It start very easy, pull STRONG right from the button to a VERY strong mid range to a VERY VERY stong top end
Im vey impressed with the performance of this engine, even if it new and on the rich side, the motor are really strong. From my seat of the pants dyno, this thing pull harder than my KTM 525 an my CRF 450.
The bike is geared 13/48 and he probably can take a 15 with absolutly no trouble.
My other good surprise are the lighteness and agility of this beast... The bike feel very light and his very easy to move. Also, the stability really impress me, no head shake and no need for a damper like my previous orange.
Also, from many review, the people complain about the kickstarter. For me, this short kick is very easy and the bike start like a little kitten
For now, after 3-4 hours on this bike, the only complaint i have is the height of the seat (im only 5p8i) and the rear brake is really not powerfull (probably just a break-in issue since its a full disc).
Im very happy with my new toy
Im sure my return to the 2 stroke world cant be better !!! This bike absolutly surprise me with all that power
in a very light weight package.
Thanks
