• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Wanted to keep you guys updated, just got my decals from Phillip on the bike . I still need to get the blue H for the tank and the front fender. I am thinking of just trying to get a blue decal instead of the raised hard decal, does any one have a source for just a blue H decal ?

looking good..heres a link for the gunsite. they arent cheap, but you cant skimp on the main emblem of the whole bike..
for some reason, i cant find them on ebay...there were 2 sellers. phil is the only other source i know of.

Does that sticky back stuff really last ? My shroud is'nt really flat where the gunsite goes its kinda curved. I have a rear shock mud guard on the way too.

the reproduction ones i bought have been on there for 2.5 years now, working great. i have them on the front fender too. i have not spilled fuel on them, i use a funnel and hose on the lid of a racecan, but they should last ok.

Great looking bike, 84scrambler. I hope mine comes out that nice looking.
Don't skimp on the gun sight H badge. They finish off the bike real nice.

I'm picky, so I like things correct. In case you haven't noticed, not all new H badges are true to the original design...

Here's a pic of 3 gunsight H badges.
#1, (far left) is new from EuroDirt in CO, #2 is new from Philip, #3 is an original (unusable). Notice the difference in the two new ones?
Both are the right size and the right color, but only Philip's has the proper curve in the H's horizontal bar. Compare it to the original.

I would only use Philip's badge or one that was correct. People are always getting the H design wrong when they reproduce Husky graphics.

Thanks everfree , that was helpful. I can see the difference too, the front fender badge is smaller right? I have one old badge and it fits the tank but not the fender ???

I've only seen one size for the H badge. It works for both the tank and front fender. I don't think Husky would have made two sizes.

I use the same size on both tank and fender. And my old bikes that still have the original badges, only have one size.
One way to check is the by part number. I assume if different the part numbers would be different.

Here are my concerns with the hard back badges.photo 2 (5)side badge.JPG

As you can see the front is different sizes and the side has a lot of bending to do before it would go down flat , what gives ?

It's been a while since I had an OEM fender. I don't remember a raised place for the front fender badge. Is that an OEM fender? I think the badges will be fine on the curvature of the side panels.

Interesting. I've never seen a fender like that. I have a bunch of original fenders and none are like that. Acerbis made the OEM and replacement fenders. What brand is that one?
Oldbikedude is right, the badge will work on a curved fender, I just installed one on a new Acerbis fender.

You could always use a H decal and trim it to the raised area.

Here's what I did today, installed the rear shock mud guard and added some stainless hardware under the seat too.

Then went for a lil ride down the street and through my buddy's neighbor hood and back down the road to my place . Started right up opened fuel tap for 10 sec. then shut off , choke on two kicks and she cranked up then turn fuel on and good to go.
Still need my side badge's tho.
