  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

Finding the impossible to find in the oddest place (or how I got a ECU + Injector kit)

DRCA

Husqvarna
A Class
I have had a 2011 TE310 for a few month now and I've been pretty happy with it. I've been looking for theTXC ECU + 12 ports injector kit since I got the bike, even called Husqvarna USA to be told that they are out of stock and that they discontinued production.

So this week I am on vacation in our home in France (I am a French expa living in California) riding my WR450F in enduro heaven (near Brioude, Mende, site of passed and future ISDE's, WEC rounds, etc... where the gendarme wave at you when you pass them on an enduro bike). My WRF blew a seal on the fork, and not having the tools I took the fork to the local dealer Challenge One 43 in Le Puy en Velay, the closest dealer to where I am. These guys are the nicest, true "motards" and very helpful.

So we start talking bikes and since they are a Husqvarna dealer, I tell them that I have a 2011 TE310 back in the States and that I love it. We talk parts availability (they haven't seen any problems yet) and I tell them I've been looking for the ECU / Injector kit and that Husqvarna USA were out, etc... etc... One of the guys listening to the conversation from teh back of the counter raises his head and says: "Oh yeah, we have one in stock, they work pretty well"....

Low and behold it was the real thing:

:eek::D
It was pricey (480 Euros - US$530) but what the helll... So next week when I am back in sunny California, wrench time!
Finally here are a few photos of the riding around here.
Cheers.

PS: How many posts does it take to get out of "newbie purgatory"???
