  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Final Answer about pick-up coil

Hi to everyone, I want to share with you what I found out about the pick-up coil... I've searched around various forums, and contacted a few sellers.

This item should works for each Smr/Te model (04-07-08-09-10), but I suggest you to check the correct value on your workshop manual. (it should be 100 ohm +- 15%).

There are 3 options:
-buy the original part
-buy a replice
-buy a new(or used) stator

Here, there is the label with different pick-up coils:

The P01 is the correct one.
As you can see on the site, this part is used for a lot of KTM models... so I've checked the exploded drawings of 3/4 different bikes, and the spare part was the same.
So if you want an original part because you don't trust replica, the part number is: 59039034000

I bought it for 74€ (in italy... maybe the costs are different in other countries).

But if you don't care about original part, in order to save some money, there are two well know resellers:

- horse power ignition (https://www.hpi.be/pickup.php "P01")
-regulator rectifier (Pickup Coil SMR510 Husqvarna (regulatorrectifier.com) I've red some bad reviews, but nothing serious)

"horse power ignitionis" is situated in Belgium, so convenient for europeans (but if i remember well, somewhere is written "shipping all over the word" or something similar) .

While "regulator rectifier" is situated in US.

So, I hope this can be useful for someone, and if anyone wants to share any info about TC-TX models, it is welcome.

ps: probably there are a lot of mistakes or syntax errors
