• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

in fact i know the owner and have ridden with him. Not the one I was looking at though.

I just went to their website and things have changed since I was there last! It's cool to see the GL stuff on the front page :thumbsup:

Yeah, they recently did anew location / showroom. Have not been there but hear it is very nice. Tom (the owner) is a cool dude and great rider / adventurer.
 
I still like those ones on the rear fender like the Yamaha IT's used to have.....tough and durable

did those go out of fashion or what ???

Agreed on both counts :thumbsup: I hadn't really looked at them too close but just did. The flashlight that comes in one of the kits has a magnet for hands-free use and the back of the flashlight is a whistle. These guys really crammed allot into a little flashlight :lol:

I have a friend that took one of their tool kits on the Trans-America Trail and was very pleased with it.

I really like the 'dirt bike gear' stuff, I've got the rear tool bag and thier tool wrap, great quality stuff. The bag has two straps that tighten nicely to keep your tools from rattling around. The only drawback I see is it is a little more difficult to get in and out of if you keep things tight. I also have the front fender bag but it blocks too much of the headlight for me so I went back to a moose front tube bag.
 
Yes, dirt bike gear is top notch. Indestructible bags.
I have them on all my bikes and fanny pack too.
 
I have the Dirtbike gear number plate bag mounted on the front of my Zacspeed chest protector. I intended to just have it on for our Paris-Dacre ride but ended up just leaving it on as it's pretty unobtrusive.
It's a great place to keep a few items, or just leave empty if I don't need to carry something in it.
