    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I squeezed in a nice 145 mile ride today. I made it into the Yolla Bollies mtns in the Mendocino National Forest I returned home through Humbolt county. There was a surprising amount of snow in the Mendocino range today. It was an exhilarating ride. My only problem today is with my stock instrument unit. It keeps fogging up. Apparently it's not really waterproof. So far I've removed it from the bike a few times and disassembled it. I've been able to dry it out and reassemble it with some luck. I am thinking about gluing it together with 100% silicone. Has anyone else had issues with their original equipment trail tech instrument unit? I thought about contacting KTM or Husqvarna on this one. I figured I'd ask here first to see if this is a common problem or maybe I possibly have a faulty poorly sealed unit. I rely heavily on my instruments especially my odometer for keeping track of my fuel range.
 
Yup. Mine will fog up if it's really wet and raining. Common issue I hear. Haven't tried sealing it up myself yet but next time I have to pull it to dry it out, I'll be trying something like you mention.
 
I wonder what's going on here? I will get ahold of Husqvarna / KTM and see if They have considered a recall. I have a few friends that use the aftermarket trail tech computers on there bikes with out problems. I do like my stock unit. Other than it fogging out it works well. I may just start using GPS to start keeping track of my distance traveled
