  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

one of our crew has a deposit on the FE350 for a few months now....there may not be one in the US for him the numbers are low and the demand super high, im surprised by this oversight. good news is that my te300 is at most 2 weeks out.

I think KTM purposely under builds so as not to have overstock and fire sales and keep prices high.

So far its looking like the underbuild is so extensive for the next few months that some dealers will go looking for other brands to sell so cobwebs dont form on their salespeople.

Someone at Mercedes was once quoted that they send exactly 1 less car than the US market wants....they didnt say 100 less or 100 less, just 1 !! Sometimes these details matter.

That seems to be the way they do things at KTM. And if this is how the "new" Husky brand is gonna start out, they are not gonna make very good impression and win over a lot of people IMO. To me it's not a good start out of the box.

We got our first four in yesterday, I think they didn't want to make too many because it's halfway through the model year. I wish they would have just done 15 models from my side of things. I still haven't received a list of what we are actually getting.... that's typical though.

The '15 bikes are only 6 months away, as Husky is going to the KTM early model year release schedule. Dealers are going to be glad the '14 build was limited, when they are doing their '15 bike order in June....

Not when they have disappointed customers standing in line like they do right now. I think they would rather sell a bunch of 14's... AND 15's.

At least somebody in Austria heard the call for DS bikes. Will be interesting to see what the future holds.

I expect spy photos (not Photoshop BS pix thanks) and specs from our inside gurus****************************************!

;)

If you get your money down early, then your not disappointed. The days of surplus stock sitting around with the eminent fire sale following are gone.

So other than Rob's buddy, who is in this "Line"?

plus everyone I know around here that has looked into them say they will be hard to get and some of these guys are real buyers if the bikes were here. I have no skin in the game I'm buying older and older bikes :)

The east coast guys you got it good your bikes beat us by 1 week everytime. Our bikes just landed friday afternoon in Portland 45 miles away hope to have them all by Monday or Tuesday.

I'm just glad that the dealers are getting them. They may be a little hard to find but at least we know they are available. I'm sure now that Bob has them, I'll see some in the woods soon. That will give me a chance swap rides if someone I know gets one.

ktm building them one less than needed will be good news for beta, sherco and other "exotics" since theres a hunger for anything not orange.
I laughed when i saw 11k for new 501. that means more like 12500 to 1300 otd. Lets see I could buy a left over wr450 with efi for 6900. hmmm

The prices are high for sure, but no need to exaggerate them upward... US FE501 price is $9899, not $11,000. I already have multiple discounted quotes on White Huskys.
