  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC FE350, eline pipe guard, who has one?

Skyllz

Husqvarna
AA Class
Seems like my OTB pants are getting too close to the pipe when I ride. Does the guard go all the way to that part? Or I'm better off getting the short universal carbon fiber guard or wrap that part in heatwrap maybe?

Had the same issue on my 350s. First I used a universal carbon fiber from p3 composites on stock pipe and it worked fine. I upgraded to fmf exhaust system and am using the eline Guard now and it works great. I still have the p3 composite laying around. Only used it for 2-3 rides. If you want it I'd let it go for $40 shipped. They sell for about $70 new.

I'm in Canada so shipping would kill the good deal, thank for offering. I have a DRC universal aluminum on the way to cover that area.

Thanks.

I roasted a nice pair of rain gear bottoms back in December last year on my fe501s. That Moose Racing carbon Gaurd looks real nice on a 501. I don't know if they make them for a 350 check Moose Racing dot-com. I came up with this amazingly effective and super cheap set up it's been tested and my header no longer melts rain gear. I picked up this fiberglass exhaust insulating wrap from a local NAPA Auto Parts store. I also obtained the three hose clamps from the same auto parts store if I remember the whole set-up cost me less than $30. I have enough extra fiberglass Tape 2 do this to several other bikes or redo this one for a few years.

Nice pic, thansk for the idea.

I ended up going with a DRC universal guard. Much cheaper(25$) and covers very nicely..
