  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC FE 350 continues to impress

I have almost 700 off road miles on the bike. The bike is stock except for the Halls ECU remap to remove the lean condition. Before the remap the bike would get really hot quickly in tight single track. So hot that I could not grip the bike with my right leg. Yesterday was the first ride with the remap. The bike ran a bit stronger throughout the curve and although the fan came on a lot it never got so hot I could not grip the bike. $50 well spent.
My previous two bikes were a 13 TXC 310 and TXC 449. Both great bikes. The 350 is like taking the best of both of those and merging them. I do miss the CTS. The first 700 miles has been on every type of terrain you can put a bike through. Fast open whooped out desert trails to tight and semi tight rocky rooty trail trash as well as long stretches of pavement to connect the trails and the 350 has performed exceptionally well. Definately the best out of the box bike I have ever ridden.
Will be keeping this bike for a long time. It is so much fun to ride I don't want to stop riding !

I'm glad you like it. So the other bikes are gone or just getting no use? Was the map from halls custom or is a upgrade most any dealer can do?

I have the same map from Halls and it's something any dealer should be able to provide but I'd have to recommend Halls ( shameless plug ) since they've taken such good care of me on my last 4 bikes!

It is an impressive package of power (with a couple add on's) and weight for a "mid bore" 4 stroke! I came off a wr300 and there is a little learning curve but I dont notice the power difference just the engine breaking, lol.
