• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Favorite bike.

The TC449 is still my favorite.
Dream bike right now would be a Beta 300rr race edition or Sherco 300se-r (2 stroke). Haven't ridden either one or a 300 2 stroke for that matter :)

I saw this new race edition at the dealer the other day... Very hard to take your eyes off of it,and it made the 14sxf450 beside it look like a dinosaur..it would be hard to pass by but if I did it would be for a new 300 electric start 2 stroke of any color they seem to be the best proven off-road bike out there IMHO ... I do like the Italian seat cover on the new KTM image.jpg image.jpg

my 86 husky cr 250. that thing probably had about 5-6 thousand miles on it by the time I sold it. (seriousy) Never replaced piston. I pretty much rode it ever single weekend (both days)from pretty much May through October in '87-89. Raced t, did all kinds of off road races. Power and handling on par with my 09 wr300.

Pretty biased but, my 2014 FE501 is the best I've ever ridden. I would like a 300 2t in the stable. Something tall so the beta is out for me. Gas gas or ktm I recon. Or a YZ300E, dreaming now...

remember that letter writing /email campaign i mentioned if that bike happens at all we can get it we just got2bitch long and loud kinda seems like Yamaha wants to get back in the game if they got 20,000+ letters from guys who ride another brand that was taken over be the biggest 300 maker out there well i think that would send a clear message

Loved my 85 yz 250 back in the day. So I got another one last year, put Race tech fork springs and shock springs on it for my weight nice**************************************** My 2013 tc 250r never ceases to amaze me. What a hoot to ride, only problem is I cant ride it at our Vintage race track any more. They outlawed modern 4 stokes because of the noise, bummer. Maybe TE 300 in my future, what do you all think?

If you had to pick one off road bike as your favorite above all what would it be?
Whats yours? Seeing as youve ridden almost every husky ajp yam and the like?
Of all time i cant really speak but couldnt fault my kmx 200 was awesome all rounder and perfect learner.

After rereading my post I wrote a couple of days ago, i realized that by putting a question at the end of the post is like taking over a thread. My bad, I will be more careful in the future. Should have just said love the 85 yz 250 for vintage racing and my 2013 Tc 250r for every other kind of riding.
