• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Corona, CA - November 5, 2012 - The Fred Andrews Racing FAR Husqvarna team faced a double-header this weekend with the GNCC series finale on Saturday followed by the final National Enduro of 2012 on Sunday. FAR Husky racers Andrew Delong and Nick Davis had their hands full between the two season-ending races, but managed to close out the year on a strong note.

The weekend started in Tennessee with the Loretta Lynn's GNCC on Saturday. Andrew came into the last round of the season with one thing on his mind - WIN! Andrew and Nick both got out to a mid-pack start, but by the end of the second lap, Delong had worked his way into the lead. Nick was pushing his TC250 as hard as possible, and steadily working his way into the top-three.

Heading into the final lap, the FAR Husky team was looking at a 1-2 finish with Nick closing in on second place. While Andrew stayed in a solid lead, Nick's day was about to take a turn for the worst. As Davis accelerated out of a turn his rear tire came off the rim. He was forced to head back to the pits for a new rear tire which relegated him to a 16th place finish.

"I wanted to finish out the year on a winning note," Delong said. "I was glad to do that, and I'm proud to have pulled off a third overall finish in the XC2 class despite having missed the first two rounds."

"I had a hard time getting going today," Davis commented. "I started to get myself together and pushed all the way up to third. I could see second and 'Davis luck' struck! I am bummed about not getting on the box today."

From there it was straight to Alabama for the final round of the National Enduro series. Delong and Davis jumped back into action for the Gobbler Getter National Enduro where Andrew pulled off a strong top-ten finish in eighth place, and Nick carded a season-best finish of 12th overall.

"This weekend was a strong finish to a remarkable season," team manager Fred Andrews said. "AD really showed them today who to watch out for next year! Nick rode awesome and gave his all only to get a flat on the last lap at the GNCC. I feel so bad for him, but he showed some real determination this year. I'm so proud of our whole team for a solid year!"
