  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Factory jet kit revisited

Husqvarna
AA Class
Just got the factory jet kit for my wr300, what is the consciences on which jets to use? The note attached recommended the 45 pj 430 main with the needle in the middle clip. Seems like that is kind of rich for the pilot and lean for the main compared to stock.

Hello Mantrap! First of all: What temp and elevation are you at? When i had my Mikuni i had the GAY needle in 2nd clip from the top and a 470 mainjet in the winter when we where iceracing. I used the 45 pilotjet at -10 degrees celsius, but even then it was a bit rich for me. I was never really satisfyed with this so i started to laborate with different needles and jets, and my best setup was to use a needle named 6DEY15-74 combined with a 40 pilotjet and a 450-460 mainjet. I used this needle in 2nd clip from the top. But the best solution is to get a Keihin PWK 38 AS. This carb makes a BIG difference and is easier to get right with the jetting. Motosportz here at the forum has them for a good price.

I'm at 1000' and the temps are from 60 to 80 deg.

Ok. i would try the needle in second clip from the top, 40 pilot and a 450 main. i never really liked the GAY needle, but the DEY was ok for me. get back when you have tried a new setup!
