  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hi all, im looking for a bit of snap out of my power delivery in my 09 te 450. efi tuning hasnt worked. wil an exhaust silencer work? if so which brand?

I second that. My 09 510 is the same. I had the tuning done and still the low end bog. George at Uptite says its the stock Arrow exhaust, especially if you run the spark arrester, dB killer which I do for my local forests. He highly recommends his exhaust, which he would, because it breathes a lot better and he has all of the screens and inserts for sound. I thinks the Arrow silencer is the same for 250 on up bikes so I can see his argument for the big bores being restricted. I figured I will get his when my stocker is dinged up enough first. I have a buddy with an 09 KXF 450 with their new injection and he says there is no bog what so ever and it has all the snap as the carbed bikes. Hope we dont have and inferior EFI system and it is the exhaust.

FMF, they are easy to get parts for, add instant power, cost wayyyyy less than the euro systems and they have won more races in the last 5 years than all other brands combined.

Everyone in this forum that has installed an FMF pipe has commented that there is no power gain. Is this because they have failed to re-map the CPU? The aftermarket exhaust question always pops up, but no one has a solid answer. For the price of George's pipe and the re-map, the FMF exhaust with the re-map will end up costing more. I know George and his exhaust will make a BIG difference, but it is on the load side. I would also like to get rid of the disturbing hesitation due to the low end bog and I am hoping an exhaust will help.
