  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Engine pops and won't stay running

Husqvarna
B Class
Well got the new fuel pump in and one ride on the bike, it ran great.
Went for a ride yesterday and got about 5 miles and the bike died again.
Seems to have spark and fuel.
Won't start, but if I pull the decomp lever and then release it while trying to start it, it will try to fire, but pops and dies.
I'm thinking its electrical.
Idea on where to start looking, spark plug looks good.

08 te510 about around 1500 miles, power up kit installed.

Did you repalce just the pump or the whole unit
can you hear the new pump run

That sounds like my 08 TE 450 when the TPS adjustment was off. Not the dying after 5 miles part but the popping and dying while trying to start it. Also check where the coil mounts to the frame on the rt side of the frame under the tank. Look for rust or loose wires.

This all assumes your new pump is priming and filter is clean.

new filter was put on with the pump. i can hear the pump come on. Only replaced the pump, not the whole unit.

Doh, Found the problem I'm thinking. After thinking about it, it actually acts like a fuel problem. Fuel line blew off of the pump.

Then it has got to be a cacycle works pump you have to modify the out put
flange on the pump and use the right clamp
use a 3/8 coarse die and a hi pressure fuel line clamp
and it wont come off again
