• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Electric Start When In Gear

Ted773

Husqvarna
I’ve recently bought a 2016 TE300 and noticed that the electric start works fine when the bike is in neutral (warm or cold), however it won’t start whilst in gear with the clutched pulled in. I’m new to electric start bikes so curious if this is supposed to happen or if there is something I can do to save me kicking it when it’s in gear?

Hi Ted
I don’t own a Te but I have friends that do and yes the EStart does work in gear ... things to check out would be the condition of your battery ... also if you have an electrical meter place the leads of the meter on the positive / negative terminals on the the battery ... start it in neutral and check the voltage draw with the meter ... then try it in gear and see where your at (voltage draw )and try to get back to us ... again as said ,my friends Te Husky starts in gear with the E start.

I have a 2016 TE 300 and it will start in gear no problem once warmed up. Your clutch must be dragging or needs to be replaced When you try does the bike try to inch forward as you push the button. I run 20/50 Lucas oil so it takes a few min for the oil to warn up. But I have like 3,000 miles 3 king of the Motos 4 year of National Hare and hounds races all on the original clutch I just finally changed it as it was just starting to inch forward when starting in gear But now with the new clutch it is back to perfect
