    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I was interested in a complete kit they make for an AJS Stormer and they answered questions promptly. They have a good reputation from what I've heard. What's happening?
 
They sent me the wrong size stator plate.

I requested the 130mm plate and they send me one around 90mm.

I email them once or twice weekly and they tell me things like dont worry we have not forgotten about you.I bought this ignition back in march 2011.

I finally emailed them and said that i would make a negative remark about their horrible customer service on different mc forums every week till i get an answer.

I am livid,i cant believe that they just dont take care of this, grrrrrrrrr

Complete rewind and remagnetization is what I understood. Think there is a link in the services thread? I had a NOS external MP I put on my WR250 last winter when i rebuilt it, just look at kicker and it starts-well...sorta. I had a PVL on my 500, finally unwound it and sold the copper when scrap prices were up! not impressed with those either. There is a guy in Spain that also rebuilds MP, highly recommended from the vintage trials guys.
 
Can I suggest you call them ... (maybe you have?)

Emails are all well and good - but if you have had really bad service it really pays to speak to the company owner ... I am a Brit and some what ashamed about the service you are receiving...

For the record I have had my CR400 Motoplat redone by Vance Smith ... I am not sure exactly what it is he does to the coil/stator but mine functions just fine - $125.00 less shipping (to memory)

3 trouble free races so far this season.

I just recieved an email friday that my plate is finally on its way! GOD save the Queen.

I hope it is worth the wait and all of my squeeky wheel emails.

Looking forward to easier starts due to their ign. retarting at low rpm.

Simon Bateman of Nametab Engineering does a very good ignition for Starmakers/Stormers. He is a top bloke.

I think that the quality is top shelf and they were great with returning emails.

Like many businesses,once they have your money customer service goes out the door.

Not trying to bash these guys but it was frustrating.

I finally got the correct plate sent to me last week.
