As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
what bike you got buddy and set up?Rehashing this thread to post a few comments on the EHS pre-filter...
A year ago I put holes in my airbox cover but, I didn't like the amount of dirt that was getting in. So, recently I bought a new airbox cover and installed an EHS pre-filter.
With the EHS pre-filter installed I noticed two very slight, but nice improvements all the same. First, I get better throttle response at low RPMs. Now, when I'm riding in the dirt, I feel less of a need to downshift when the RPMs get down to around 3000. The EHS seems to allow the motor to lug more easily. Second, prior to the EHS I still had a slight surging feeling when cruising downhill and having the throttle cracked open just a small amount. Now, that surging sensation is practically all but completely gone.

I have the TE and find myself in the wet and muddy quite a bit. I wasn't happy with the amount of water that was getting past the EHS, so I put a stock airbox cover back on.
I don't know if my filter needs replaced or what, but I stuck mine in the sink and put some water on it, and quite a bit passes through. I also see water in my airbox after washing, and this is with a low pressure garden hose and a shower nozzle.Funny I ride wet and muddy plenty also and that was the main reason I installed an EHS. I had the air box drilled (under side panel, not out in the open) and snorkel removed to increase air flow and that was allowing easy access points to the airbox from the rear tire flinging mud, dirt and water. Especially got worse after switching to a single exhaust, prior to that the right side muffler blocked the direct path quite a bit. So I bought a new stock airbox cover, kept snorkel attached and installed an EHS. Roughly the same airflow but now I have better protection from the elements. When washing my bike (seldom done) I used to be paranoid about spraying the EHS and covered it with blue painters tape. But did an experiment once and sprayed directly onto the EHS with low pressure garden hose and no water got inside. Even if some did most would drain out and/or evaporate and not suck past the filter to the engine.
