  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

EFI settings with/without O2 sensor on a TE250

Alberto

Husqvarna
AA Class
My TE250 came from dealer without the O2 sensor on the pipe.. and it is powered up, however, I am not happy with the low end and want to check how can I change the performance putting in the O2 sensor and loading another EFI configuration/map.

Will the O2 sensor with any map out there can improve performance or is it better if I keep it like it is now without sensor and the actual map(i dont have any idea of the loaded map)

Any suggestions/recommendations on this?

If you reinstall the O2 sensor you will need to remove the jumper that is in the harness where the O2 sensor plugs in. Removing said jumper will revert the ECU back to stock settings(not gonna be good) The OEM ECU is locked so you either need to buy an after market programmer like the PCV or JD to remap the fueling. Do you know if you still have the OEM ECU installed or did the dealer upgrade it to the TXC or? More info would help us help you.

Your bike is in power up mode.

If it does not run well you will either have to adjust it with I-beat or buy the 12pt injector and ECU.

I have a '10 Te250 powered up with stock 4pt injector Ti pipe with spark arrestor and it runs good at 101 104 103.

I am not 100% sure, but I dont think my dealer upgraded ECU and injector.. it has the stock one, but flashed with the power up mode or whatever map it is.. dont know which one to be honest..

where can I buy the Ibeat and how friendly is for someone without much mechanical knowledge?

The ECU can't be flashed with a new map like the new red heads can. Using the iBeat you can only adjust a few co settings and reset the TPS that's it. It's really easy to use but costs about $300 for the cables software and adapters. A 250 isn't going to have much power off the bottom, it will need to rev up a bit like a 2t. These bikes have no flywheel effect and a very short stroke by nature they want to be revved out.

You can see the injector yellow is the old one green is for the txc.
