    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I know that there are pages of useful info on here about mapping etc, my problem is I'm to much of a novice to understand all the technical lingo. I have a '09 510 SMR, that I have installed the Power Up Kit on. I have read that I need to have my EFI re-mapped because of the changes I've made. I took it to my dealer, and they said they technically can't do that for me. However, we did hook my bike up to the computer and there were 3 percentage read outs that I think affected the fueling. I think the top one was 110%, and the bottom two were 100%. The tech told me if I could figure out what percentages I needed to change my bike to, he would do it for me. So my question is: Are there 3 magic percentages that I can take to him and have him change it? I know Dean is the guru on this. Is it as simple as saying the top needs to be xxx%, the middle xxx% and the bottom xxx%, and then voila! my bike runs perfect? So, can someone tell me what numbers I should be at?

Sorry for the novel, any help is appreciated.
 
You should have taken out the Lamaba sensor in the pipe and plugged in a part that tells the ECU to run the rich race mode map. this should make it run close to right on. The three percentages are low/mid/high (RPM) points you can map. so you are 10% richer on the bottom and standard on the mid and top. These settings can make a large difference in how the bike runs and fuel mileage. Best to be able to play with the settings like you play with a carbs jets and see what works for your bike. To may variables to get it all right just using someone else's numbers.
 
The main question is does the bike run OK?

If the lambda has been removed and the resistor installed on the loom the fuelling should be pretty close. If you have a running issue then it needs adjusting, if it runs OK then you have nothing to worry about!

It seems to be running fine, I just thought it needed to be re-mapped after adding the Power Up kit. If it ain't broke.....:excuseme:
 
Mine was remapped after they put on a Leo Vince pipe, but it had the Lambda Sensor still on. After break-in I added the Lambda Sensor removal kit and it runs real good. Do I need to have it remapped back to where it was before the Leo Vince pipe was added or should I leave it where it's at?

If you have no complaints, sounds like it's close enough and running good for for you. It should pull from idle to redline nice and clean. Just pay attention to how she runs and that you are getting "reasonable" gas mileage.
 
I had my 08 610 running very well with the leo and sensor in. I decided to remove the sensor and spark arrestor, although it still runs very well I think it may be a tad rich now.
does this seem in order or am I :doh:
 
It's not uncommon for the base map to be richer to prevent engine damage from a lean condition since this is what the ECU uses when it thinks the O2 has failed or been removed.

On an 08, you only have the FB1 setting to adjust unless you add a Power Commander. You could probably find more power if that's what you're looking for, but it cost MPG. No free lunch!
