  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

ECU fix for '14 310R ?

MZee

Husqvarna
AA Class
I'm learning about the possible ecu fixes for my new 310R. I have heard / read that the magic box can be removed & sent off to be reprogrammed. I have also heard / read that the whole bike has to be taken to a dealer (3hr drive) for the fix. Which is true for the '14 310R ? Im not a racer, but a dualsport / trail / adventure rider. I dont need more power, but want to fix the low RPM die-out and the high RPM power fade. I have removed the catalyst, and drilled 3/4" holes thru the filter baffle. This helped the mid range power, but the low & hi RPM glitches remain. Does the metal screen between filter & throttle restrict flow much? What are the ECU /mapping options available?

Thanks

There are 3 maps in the ECU.
Stock restricted - designed for the bike with all the emissions crap on
Full power - designed for the bike with all the emissions crap removed
Open pipe - runs best with all emissions crap removed and open muffler added.

Search for power up 310 and theres info here on what to do...

Call Zipty racing to ask about sending the ECU in...

What do you mean by "filter baffle"? The Velocity Stack maybe? (red trumpet)
Open the end up completely with a dremel.

It seems to be debatable if the metal screen affects peformance or not. I've seen dyno charts from a 450 with/without the screen and there was basically no change.

When I did the filter baffle mod, I didnt know the red trumpet had restrictions in it. So i will open it up too. I'll search the forum to learn more, & give ZipTy a call.

Thanks

I'm glad I have a 2012...trumpets...folding valves...ECU reflashes...

lol... I'm glad I have a 2013.
2012 is all Mikuni this, I-beat that... something about injector changes and ecu swaps... and you ain't got no sump plug, cool red trumpet or battery-less EFI...
