• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Running Springs: Home base for the week 10/23-30, My brothers place. 7.5 hr drive. I compared it to the NW Gathering a week before ? Chose to ride with my bro on his B-day. Good Times were had.

First Ride 10/25 1pm ish ? Depart Running Springs heading down Hwy 330 to 1N09. Manzanita Flats they call it, 2,300 ft, all dirt roads to Big Bear (Highway Legal Vehicles Only) Very Nice to have a plate. I swapped out the 50t to a 47t rear to ride at speed on the roads. From 1N09 we hit middle control rd. to 38 Angelus Oaks for lunch. Back on the HWY 38 to 1N54 to 2N10 (Boulder Bay). From there it was all road HWY 18 to Running Springs. Total: 79.6 miles.DSCF0007.JPGDSCF0026.JPG

Ride 2 10/27 Running Springs Hwy18 to 2N51 (Big Bear, Snow Summit) to 2N06 to 1N45 out at Hwy 38. After a short ride up 38 we found 2N93 that took us to 9,000 feet (little cool for my gear). 2N27 took us back to Big Bear Lake (Moonridge). From there we ripped down the Hwy18 to Running Springs. 80.2 miles

My TE 250 ran flawless (close loop race map) at 9,000 feet ???DSCF0038.JPGDSCF0040.JPGDSCF0041.JPGDSCF0042.JPG The 13-47 Gearing was great and the MT-21s did great on the pavement. So 160 miles on the bike (50+pavement, 100+ dirt) for the two rides. The Bike did everything I asked it to do, Very Happy

Nice! How did the antique xl do? Had a 79 250 with the extra big front wheel for a few years. Was a neat bike.

Ha Ha, That is the same bike my brother has had since HS (1975 or 76). He has 2 other clones (ebay partouts etc) all run like new. New turf for me? so I let him lead (Big Fun watching him with 3" travel).DSCF0034.JPG
