• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Downtime!

Well i guess I'm down for the winter. I will use the time to work & make new trails till the spring. I wish it didn't cost so much for a rebuild but with christmas coming on I can't really swing a new bike yet & would still have to get this one fixed. I entered a thread under 4 stroke [hope it is where it belongs] detailing what is wrong with my bike & could use some answers if anyone is interested.

The 4st forum is definitely the right place for the right place for the 4st technical discussions.

Good luck with that

It is my understanding there are some outstanding mechanics back there. I'd start asking around if you don't know who to call or what to do.

I've been talking to George at Uptite & as everyone knows he is the man! He wants me to look at the cylinder so when i have time I will do that. When I asked him about the timing when I put it back together he just said "call me & I will talk you thru it & don't say thanks because your in the Husky fold".

Good one George, thats what I love about these nutty bikes and their owners (or is it nutty owners and their bikes). Just have a look at other brand formats, you see lots of heated arguments (gets personal) and very little offers of help. There is something very healthy and appealing about the Husky mob-long may it last
