  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

DIY head porting. Thoughts?

Hello everybody!

Bike is an 05 tc 250, with a 300 kit. just a little curious about trying to get a little more air flow. I know its not all about making the port bigger there are other aspects involved so if you know them please elaborate. My friend has a ttr 225 that i'm fixing for him, its a real junker so i wanted to try out porting on that and it worked out well. i port matched the aluminum insert on the rubber between the carb and the head. and i do realize there is no power to made there haha. its easy enough to keep a good shape by just taking your time. i used an air die grinder with a fairly aggressive bit. I would invest in a more mild bit if i was to do my own bike. anyway Id love an insight, techniques.. etc.. if everyone thinks its a job for the pros then chances are i wont do it :P but if i do end up doing it i could take some pictures and lists tools and types of bits if that interests anyone.

on a side note- if anybody has the 300 kit for the 250 what kind of jets are you running?

Thanks in advance

I have my 06 TC250 ported by a pro and he said there were gains to be had in the intake side. Cleaned up around the valve pocket and stem area. I had a 300 kit installed and the same time so not sure the gains but that bike ripped.
