• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Difference between 2 Stroke and 4 Stroke Wheels

tls25rs

Husqvarna
AA Class
Looking to buy an 18" rear wheel for my 06 TE510 and found an 18" rear wheel off a CR125. PM'ing with the seller and the difference is in the hub part number.

'08 - '09 TE510 Hub part no. is 8A00-96937 and a 2.15 x 18 rim.

WR125 Hub part no. is 8000-96937 and a 2.15 x 18 rim.

Does anyone know what the difference in the hub part numbers changes on the hubs and/or if this wheel will work on the 06 TE510?

Thanks

Joel

The sprocket offset is different between 2 and 4 strokes. Your chain will not run true with the wrong hub.

It's true. I tried to put my 2007 TE 250 rear wheel onto my 2008 CR 125, and it was a no-go--heavy rubbing of the chain and sprocket on the chain guide.

I have to check but I think the 09 and up that got he linkage change will swap out. I know the "meat" on the hub around the sprocket flange is bigger though

Thanks for the replies guys.

Looks like the difference in the hubs is the sprocket offset.

After looking into it I realized that if I were to buy all the parts to make the 19" wheel with the 4 stroke hub, that I already have, an 18" wheel new I would be out around $500. Instead I'm going to wind up learning how to tear down and then build a wheel and in the process get the 18" rear wheel I wanted for the cost of the used 18" wheel.
