• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Debris, oil change.

Hi. Today i was going to change oil for the first time in my 630... when i took out both mesh from the left side i found somekind of debris not much metal more like some fibers. It looked a little bit like pieces from a gasket... do you have any idea what it can be?

im uploading a picture of the mesh too, do you think its normal?

In the shop manual, it says that the left side mesh has two gaskets. Is it just the gaskets on the lid thats meant to be there or should it be something more? Isnt the mesh turned the wrong way on the shop manual? at least it was mounted other way in the engine...

Normal for the first couple oil changes, that's just excess case sealant that's come loose in the oil.

It's also normal to find a few metal shavings from the gears meshing.

As for the oil screen, yes the manual is confusing. Just reinstall it the way it came out.

Oh, sorry. I wrote like it says first oil change... what i meant is that it is the first time for me to do the oil change the bike is ridden 9000km.
I also thought of case sealant when i saw the debris. probably nothing to worry about...

Did a Husky dealer change your oil before? If not, or if they're lazy, chances are that's the first time the side screens have been pulled.

That's what they usually look like the first time.

Yes its a dealer who made the oil changes. When im looking in the service chart it looks like it have been changed 3 times. Well as long i dont feel or hear any issues i assume thats everything is in its order. I just had to ask, im a bit new on the 4-strokes and this is a bike that i want to just run and run... When i had my 2stroke motox bike it was easier.. If somethibg happened to the engine it was just to load it in the car and go home. Thanks rdtcu for your answers
