  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Dakar 3 huskies in the top 10

I've been following the Dakar from before it got to south america, and never miss it. It is one of my goals in life to participate, but I first must start by buying my first bike.

Yeah Joan Barreda looks to be a good contender to Cyril Depres, hope he can keep up the speed and navigation skills to maintain the lead. Awesome to see Husqvarna at the top!!

HUSKY IN THE LEAD! Boo Yah! That's right, baby! Eat that, Mr 5th Place Scumbag Despres!

Day 1 wasn't so great (yet not terrible) for the Husky team, but Stage 1 was only 8 miles.
Finishing Stage 2 in the lead position is GREAT! w00t! Way to go!

Let's spank us some more Frenchmen tomorrow!

Sorry, but after what Despres did to Goncalves in the mud pit last year, he is a total scumbag in my book and I will take any chance I can get to smear his name. They should have DQ'd him for unsportsmanlike conduct for that shit.

Its a New World Order when Husky gets factory support and we are living it today ... Thank you who ever is responsible ...

Thanks and be my guest ... I'll leave a bucket of muDDD (triple D mud) out by your door step in case the yahoo you are referring to happens to get too close to your area of operation...

Paris-Dakar, baby!! Regular life pretty much comes to a screeching halt in our house for 2 weeks every January

I counted 10 Husqvarnas before the rally started. I hope they all do well! I'm also pulling for the crazy man on the Bultaco :applause:

Also, there's a Dakar thread already started over in the Racing forum if anyone is interested
