• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

D37 MX Series, A Chance to Help For a Great Cause

I wasn't planning on racing much MX in my life, but since the series is stopping just up the road from me I considered it.

Then I found out that there's a DKOT (district king of the track) for us non triple clearing desert guys, and thought, that's not so bad.

Then I found out that entries in this class will have a portion set aside to help out Kim Carpenter of Rescue 3. She recently lost her Husband to Illness and tragically her son passed a couple of weeks later. If you race desert, you know Kim, and if you are a Zip Ty customer, she's also the nice lady who answers the phone and takes care of us customers.

If you wanna come out and bang bars this is a great reason. If you don't want to race, check the D37 competition calendar and come watch. http://www.district37ama.org/offroad/calendar.html

There will be a donation jar at sign up to help her out.

This being my first full year of desert racing, I've found a lot of great things. It's a big fun family that gives back. I feel it's just the right thing for me to do and wanted to share with my fellow "Cafe Racers" who surely feel the same as I do.

You planning on doing the MX races in August? One of the races is @ Glen Helen - that's an awesome place to race/ride.

I'll be out of town, but I do like Glen Helen. Snagged third in my class on a borrowed bike at the 2 stroke nationals that I just bought Saturday. That was my test ride I guess.
