Hi everyone,
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Really? No power up? Husqvarna NA shouldnt let a bike in anyones hands without the powerup plug.
Cycle News has always been one of the better more honest mags in the US IMHO.

hi im new to this forum and i am also a proud new owner of a 2012 te449 and i keep hearing people talk about this power up plug/mode. what is this and how do i install/turn on? please reply
there is a small plug that should have come with the bike. You plug that in under the seat up by the ECU and it adds fuel (richer) and makes it run WAY better. When your bike is running does it say "race map" on the display? If so your already in power up mode.

At some point and if you add an open exhaust get the JF EFI tuner. You will find about that same jump forward as going for stock to power up as you will from power up mode to the JD EFI tuner. Makes the bike run even better and more power. Swap out the muffler and add the JD and hold the F on.
With the stock Karoos, no wonder they had trouble in the sand!
They should make it a long term tester, swap the slicks disguised as knobbies, and just do the race map II.

Just read a Dirt Rider test of the TC449 and they actually liked it! They say it really isn't intended as a MX bike but will make a great desert racer.
I remember when I used to ride KTM's they never had anything good to say about them except for the motor, then Jimmy Lewis decided they were cool and the band wagon got over loaded.

one more question when i took off the ugly canister thing off the side of the bike i plugged the hole coming from the motor and the one that came off the gas tank im thinking i shouldnt have plugged the one off the gas tank cuz now the gas tank cant vent. what should i have done instead leave the gas tank part open?
