• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Cush Drive Rubbers

F class
Does anyone know if the X Challenge wheel is compatible with the TR's.
Heres a possible option for the cush rubbers. Still to eventuate

The X-Challenge wheels and cush hubs are not compatible.
But that is a good thing as BMW stopped making cush rubbers for the X-bikes and that is why they have needed to have someone custom make them.

Our are the same as the later F650GS singles and the G650GS bikes.
These are readily available, and should be for quite a while.

Dang nabbit, Thanks Ogre, I found a couple of guys making these in the US.
I'm looking at changing them next tire change. (Done the tube thing) Guess I'll just have to pay for the bmuu privilege

I'm in the process of trying to source a high-density PU-replacement from some good folks in South Africa, who have been doing the replacements for the XT660R/X/ Tenere guys
for a few years now.
About to peel the rear wheel out on Saturday to send over some photos.
If it happens, it'll be a while though...

I have an extra hub with rubbers that came with my Strada wheels. If you want me to mail them to you it's no problem. Easier than pulling yours...

Great stuff!!:applause:
Might be best to hang onto those rubbers until we're (hopefully) past the initial contact, then maybe mail them straight to Andy in ZA for measurements etc?

Mailing the pics off this morning.

The TR hubs/ rubbers are identical for all TR's.
They are BMW R13 series wheels/ hubs as used on the F+G series singles:
F 650 GS , 2000-2007
F 650 Dakar , 2000-2007
G650GS 2010-2016
G650 Sertao , all years

Sprocket carrier is the 3-prong R13

Word from Andy in ZA:

Hi
Yes we can do the bm PU rubbers that fit in the Husky 650.
For the same price as the XT blue ones.
***EDIT: ****(That was $125 AU delivered. Took about a month to arrive, for the TR all the groundwork will have to be done first...)***
Kind Regards.
Andy

I'm happy to stick my neck out and be the guinea-pig on this, will order them over the weekend and check with Andy if it's ok to post his email addy here for anyone who wants a set.

Another reply from ZA:

Hi Pete !
we already make thoose GS650 rubbers along with rubbers for the older Funduro s too.
As long as the Husky is the same as the BMW.the one that has the 3 split rubbers ?
Then .yes . we already have the mould..
We going to pour some next week for you guys.

Anyone in Oz wants to jump in?

Please order your own, he offered me a 10% discount if acting as an "agent" but for the local postage involved it most likely works out cheaper if we all order individually and get the items sent straight to each of us individually.

These are the BMW cush rubbers they already produce (ours would be the blue one, the red one is for the X-series bikes, no idea about the black one)

Hey guys, got a dilema... my cush drive rubbers worn a bit and started to see some signs on metal parts. I believe need to replace them. Has anyone got an idea where I could get those anywhere in Sydney before Christmas? I am pretty desperate as planned adv solo trip for 2 weeks from 25th of dec, and just realized these are worn out. What will happen if I won't replace them and do another 5k km on those? Does anyone have these ones for sale (used or new as long as they are better than mine). Mine did 20k km. thank you.

I have a set that were protected by that method since the bike was almost new. I am trying the new urethane ones from South Africa. You're welcome to have a look at them.

that's brill idea, thanks for quick response, will try inner tube method, will see how it will survive 5k km :) may replace at mid point of my trip.
