  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Any bigger guys ride these?
I am 6ft2 and 240lbs in gear. With a 150cc kit on it, how would it go given my weight?
Would the power from the 150 kit make it similar to a 250f MXr? I like the power of the 250f and am comfortable riding one.

Would I be happy do you think on a CR with the big bore kit?

Also, how would they compare to a KDX200?

I'm a little lighter than you (215 in gear) and my daughters 144 was adequate for me. I rode with a couple buddies and they couldn't keep up with me on their 250s, the weight is the big factor. I think the 144 feels like a slightly underpowered KDX on the bottom, mid range I like the 144 better.

My CR165 pulls my 200+ lbs with ease. It has also pulled a 270 lb friend of mine aound our MX track. I just got back from our club and it was a ball with the exp set up. I know my 165 will pull any 250F I 've been on and it's way funner while doing so. So I think a bb-kit on the 125 is the way to go but I wouldn't stop with a 144, I'd go WB165. Never been on a 200 KDX so I can't compare the 144/165 to it.

I rode my wr in 125 form for about 6-8 months, and loved it... I still love that small bore bike, but the 165 is the way to go if you want the option of being lazy the last 1/2 of the day. Or if your tired of climbing hills at 10,000 RPM, the 165 will also solve that problem.

I want a CR 125 but haven't got the cash for a new one and can't find a used one near me and I've been looking for a year. I'm 6'5" and 215 lbs. I bought a YZ125 to tide me over until I can get a Husky.

Haha, I read your post before I saw who posted, and when I read your height/weight, I thought to myself, that dude must be lanky!

it says enough how the bike is liked (people don't let it go that easy)
