  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc cr125 top end rebuild kit?

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hey everyone,

Been in-active quiet a while, and wanting to get back into riding, can someone point me in the right direction of sourcing a top end rebuild kit with gaskets for my 2013 CR125?

Also, my rear shock is also quiet sagged. Would winding up the coil or adding air improve this?

~Elias

The shock probably need a rebuild and it contains nitrogen not air. You could try adding nitrogen since it has been sitting it may fix it and it isn't to expensive.

Hi Elias,
You may be able to go OEM, thru Husqvarna but watch out for price. Wossner also do a complete range of aftermarket gear for top end rebuild, they are as good or better than OEM. piston rings, little end and gudgeon plus circlips and gasket set. You will need to pull yours down and ascertain piston size, usually marks on top of piston signify size via a,b,c,d. see bikes and bits website.

re rear suspension.
go to kroozetune website and look at what they recommend for setting sag. if you are over 80-90kg chances are you are too heavy for standard spring which I think is a 4.8 look on this site for what standard is although US bikes may be different.

Wossner rebuild kit is good quality. Just rebuilt mine and everything fit real well. A little hard to find, but I contacted them directly and they were very helpful

Cheers for your help. Should be able to obtain the piston size by pulling the head off and looking on top of the piston?

Also, i'm 79kg, i'll go to that website and check out details about setting sag. Cheers for your help!

Interesting, i thought they'd be air. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks i'll check it out! Wossner seems to be the go. How much did you pay for the kit? Gaskets etc everything included?

Nitrogen is best but you can uuse air, though it's probably the spring. The bladder charge has nothing to do with suspending the bike and I'm 65kg and had to go heavier on the back, lighter on the front. They're not well balanced from the factory

Yeah it has always been a big sagged in the back from the day i got it with only 20 hours on it

there is a basic sag adjustment for these, do you have the owners manual to check the baseline?
if the adjuster is way past half way you will need a stiffer spring
if it way less than half way you should get a lighter spring
this is based off the factory recommended sag check

image.jpg I've been watching this one for a while. Has everything you need for $152 delivered! Check all ya linkage/shock/swingarm bearings are ok & greased then yeah get the right weight spring & shock oil/gas change

I think you're right it'll just be a stuff up on their behalf. Hard to get good info on Italian Huskies.

Do you think that piston would be of good enough quality?

Cheers

i used Mitaka/Aoki Pistons for Years with only good results.

u can also run a Honda CR125 from the mid 90s or a yz125 05- but for the yz piston the cyl.head needs to be machined.

Haha ya pair of dicks. Incidentally it died the other day but haven't washed it to look for problem yet. I'm suspecting ignition or stator but hoping just a wire
