  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
A Class
Hello
I've bought a Husqvarna 125 2000 with the engine in parts. Was wondering if anyone have a "how to put it together" guide? Would be a lot of help since I've got no idea of where all the small parts are going...
Maybe someone know what models have the same engine for making it easier to find parts?

I would get a parts schematic. It will show you an exploded view with order of assembly. You will need to have a some calipers so you can make sure you have the correct part as most parts have dimensions where needed. It is a very simple engine but you would probably be wise to get someone local who has experience with it to help you assemble. I can do one pretty much in my sleep, blindfolded but that is just working with so many for many years.

If you have questions on parts, post a picture and we can probably tell you where it goes and in what order.

Yeah, I'll let you know if I need help figuring things out. Found some workshop manuals which I guess explains most of the parts.
Only have experience with the Husqvarna 450/510 engine and KTM 250cc 546 engine. And I would guess the engines have changed a bit in 10 years

Almost done with the engine but left one part.
Got any idea where this one is going to fit?

It got the same size as one of the gearshafts... 15mm

That most likely goes on your out put shaft. You should have a shim on both sides of the output shaft. The clutch shaft is captured in place by the clutch and can't move so they space the output shaft accordingly to match up the tranny spacing.

Wow you really know your husqvarna engine, absolutely right.
Annoying having to deal with removing the gears again, but easier this 2nd time around
Now there's only 2 things missing from getting the engine complete. A new nut on the crankshaft and that spacer on the output shaft where the chain sprocket is supposed to be.

Don't forget there is an o-ring that goes inside that spacer. If you forget it, it will weep tranny oil. You will see the spacer has a bevel in area on the inside where the o-ring fits.

i have never worked on the 125, but it looks to almost be a mirror image of the 250/360! maybe someday

Ordered a new spacer from my local dealer since I clouldn't find it anywhere. Should be about a week or 2 before it gets here. Since they had to ship it from germany to norway...
I think the 250 engine is better to work on since the parts dont feel so smal, but it was actually a quite easy engine to work with. Put in new bearings and gaskets too.

I also had to restore my 2000 125. Great bikes, but for some reason I have trouble with its height. I always do but most of the time a cut seat and I am good to rail on any bike 250f 450f. but this 125 the geometry seems to make it taller than you would think.

Now it has a bunch more miles on it. Broke the rear fender and got it really dirty.

Waiting on a lectron carb to smoothe out the hit and make tuning easier.

Great bikes :) hardest piece to find was the clutch basket dealer wanted like 400 and could not find one. Got a fast by ferraci basket from bmp used for like 250ish. Made the bike easy to ride, had no clutch play before and a all top end powerband made for alot of newbie fun :P

Good luck! you will love it!

Just going to restore the engine, since the bike wont be worth any more if I restore the whole bike.
Aaaaaaand Im waiting for a ticket from the Police now... For trail riding. Which is about 1200 USD or more here in norway

1200 dollars? whoa like the price of a bike? dang

Yeah, its insane.. At best its 1200dollars, but I'll guess we'll have to wait and see.
Ain't easy trying to save some money for a New streetbike.
