• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Cost of parts in other countries

WickedWill

Husqvarna
AA Class
Just wondering what people pay in other countries for their husky spares.
I was looking at some parts locally in Australia

Cam chain p/n 8C00H0987 $121.00

Cam chain slider p/n 8000H1783 $58.40

Timing chain guide p/n 8000H1782 $41.70

Clutch BUSH 28X25 MM TE p/n 161538802 $48.30

Cheers

I just got quoted the following for TE630 parts (they wouldn't tell me the part numbers though either, cheeky buggers)

Steering Head Bearings: $69.95
Wheel Bearings Front: $39.95
Wheel Bearings Rear: $44.95
Swingarm Bearings: $124.95

Power Up Kit -
O2 Connector: $29.95
O2 Plug: $51.95
O2 Gasket: $10.95

Now I hate to be a whinging bastard, but $52 for what is effectively a bolt in the exhaust?

Did you try trooperlu, all the part no are there.
Go to repco and grab a sump bolt about $6

According to the Halls website:

Cam chain p/n 8C00H0987 $121.00

$58 US

Cam chain slider p/n 8000H1783 $58.40

$28 US

Clutch BUSH 28X25 MM TE p/n 161538802 $48.30

$16 US

I'll keep these numbers in mind next time somebody is talking about how Australia is some sort of magical utopia. (Don't get me wrong, I think Australia is a seriously kickass place, but everywhere has pros and cons, right?)

Here are some rounded prices for the 2008 SM 610:
-head gasket: 42 €
-piston rings: 66 €
-cam chain: 54 €
-spark plug (from a Husqvarna dealer): 5.9 €
-gaskets of the two valve covers that you remove to check the clearance: 2 x 0.80 €
-clutch bushing: 14 €
-clutch springs: 6 x 1.3 €
-clutch cush springs: 6 x 2.9 €
-clutch cush cups: 12 x 8.0 €
-clutch cush rivets: 3 x 0.25 €
-clutch cover gasket: 16 €
-clutch lever: 9.0 €
-reed valve behind the cam chain: 4.6 €
According to Google, 1 € = 1.35 USD = 1.54 AUD.
IMO we have to consider the purchasing power of the currency in each country. Here an average worker earns about 1,300 € per month and a kilo of bread costs 2 €, so a cam chain can't cost 10 € or 150 €.

O2 Plug: $51.95

There are two size/thread combinations for O2 sensors. O2 sensor bung plugs are $2 US at any auto parts store or exhaust repair shop.

Anyone know what the bearings are in the 'Swingarm Bearing' kit?
I'm thinking you can get them for a fair bit less then $125 bucks....

They're half-shell needle bearings, and they're expensive no matter where you get them. Yes you can save a few dollars at a bearing house but really, it's a few dollars, not like a 30% savings

I have bought all my Oem stuff from the US, I find Bills and Motoxotica are very helpful. Stuff I have bought are TC Exhaust fittings, radiator fan, PCV and motard rims.
You only have to buy a couple of items and including the postage it still only equals about half the price in Aust.

how did you go with tuning for the PC5?
I've heard that Australian tuners won't work with imported Dynojet gear...sounds paranoid, but also possible in the police state that is the island nation

I just used the tunes that Tinken posted in the Zipty thread. I run the Burson tune and I have an auto tune, I wont be going to the dyno.

I just payed $50 for that little bolt n the black plug.then realised u dont even need it if u get the power up plug im in liverpool sydney does any 1 know wer i can get the power up plug for a good price cheers
