• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The Assignment with Nathan Woods

I just finished watching this video and thought I’d share what a cool video it was. There is some awesome riding and it goes over some good techniques. The video has cool footage of what to do for log crossings, water, hill climbs, sand, steep declines, and it also has some footage of what NOT to do. I always like to see the footage of people screwing up so I know I’m not the only one out there that looks like a stooge sometimes.

Stunning photography.

Has anyone seen this? How is it?

I bought the Shane Watts dvd and it was a huge infomercial.

I have it and it's well done. Although wattsy's dvd is indeed filled with sponsor ads it has more detailed info on riding techniques on various terrain. Woods dvd makes me feel like I can't ride very well cause he does it so well and makes it look so damn simple.

I take these dvd's for what they are. For $25 I'll listen to sponsorship plugs, take in some good action photograghy, enjoy the opportunity to watch some extremely talented riders and maybe even absorb some of the info provided. It's alot easier to throw $25 away on nuthin' these days so IMO they are worth it. And remember, it's not like they're earning Bubba Stewart or Chad Reed salaries. Supporting them even if I only watch it a couple of times is OK by me. It's low budget as Woods or a friend of his is mailing these dvd's on a hand written envelope, most likely out of a their garage.

Oh yeah, I have the dirtwise video too (the first one, I guess he just made a new one) and I like it too. I agree with Wetdog, I'd rather spend it on this than some other stuff.
