  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Convince me to buy 2010 TC 250

I've currently have an 08 TXC 250 with the 300 kit on it. Bike has full LTR suspension on it and a host of other goodies. Bike only has 50 hours on it. Its been used primarily as a slare/practice bike. I've been reading about the new x lite 250 and like what I've been reading. Found a good deal on a 10 TC 250. I want the carbed version as I have no dealer close by. I am on the fence about whether the new bike is that much better than old platform. Really like the 50 zokes and not sure how the kyb's will work. Is the bike as quick as 08 300? It will be used as a hare scramble/practice bike. I have an 11 gasgas 300 as main bike. Help me get off fence or stay on it!!

My son's bike,2010 TC250(which I trade off from my WR125 when we ride together)has turned into a great bike after the required break-in.Fiddled with carb..per suggestions from here, changed fork oil ,set sag front and rear and she was good to go.Bolted on the only performance part..full Akropovic exhaust...she hauls:D! Works in moto and off road...just gear it down from stock for tight woods stuff.

Guscycle:banana:

I have both bikes...

The 08 txc 300 is great bike for the fast stuff, it is super stable and handles well. I really never came to grips with it for gnarly tight technical trails, it is just a bit too heavy. It is a capable MX bike too.

The 10 tc 250 is has unreal handling, the power is soft but it puts it to the ground so well it is very easy to ride fast. It is really fun to ride, mx and off road, and the quick handling makes it a joy to ride in the technical stuff. It is a woods racing weapon, a slightly more sedate version of my 125. My only concern with it is stalling it, if I was going to race it off road regularly it would need a Recluse.

I guess it boils down to what type of riding you do mostly.

Later,
