  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Converting TC450 to enduro spec

Husqvarna
Hi guys, new to the forum. I`m looking to convert my 2008 TC450 to road legal trail/green laner spec.
Would welcome any advice from members who have already done the conversion. Not too concerned about the paperwork and registration side of things but would welcome any help regarding the best lighting kit etc.

Hi Sadlam, sorry no advise, I'm trying to do just the opposite. I'd like a more snap & topend, not sure if the TC has different cam or compression. Can anyone help? I've just added hopup kit, remapped & Arrow can. Not sure if just changing to 510 piston & barrel or if just doing that would do much without complete EFI tuning.
Do you have a TE ignition with lighting coil? Google search should bring up many kits (Baja Design). With new LED lighting, you shouldn't need many amps to run lights. Parts Unlimited has pressure switchs that are built into banjo bolts that can be added to rear & front brake calipers to give you front/rear brake lights. You just have to be sure you get the threads right, I found one for my Dunstall Norton that has clipons & front caliper didn't have front brake switch. Any kit should have some kind of timer/switch for turn signals if your state requires them. I looked at the wiring diagram in the manual shows a "clutch microswitch" as a ground & a Red wire to the start motor that you could use for a power source. If you have a little wiring experiences, most adventure riding sources have terminal block with "key ON" relay for powering up terminals that are also fused. I used "Eastern Beaver" for my VStrom, great kit with easy to use instructions. I think Parts Unlimited also has key switches for an igniton switch & to keep your Husky safe!Good luck.
