• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

no sweat. i already have the ContourHD (and like it a lot) but that deal was too good to pass up. all my mounts work with the ROAM too so it was a no brainer... mine arrives tomorrow :D

mainly wanted the ROAM for the 5MP still photo capability, cool way to capture rides.

Just ordered mine, thanks for the heads up. I love my 1080 hd, I'll use this on the wet days my hd would stay home.......

JEEZ thats an amazing deal. I might have to order one just because. My current HD vholder is holding up awesome but hey...

ray_ray, the profile mount would work, yes. i like the goggle strap mount, nothing to stick in place.

not funky, just tiny :D it takes a MicroSD card. they're available pretty much everywhere these days. Staples, BestBuy or anywhere online... usually cheap too. i only have an 8GB card and it still captures quite a bit of footage in HD.

Thanks and this looks a good trade for good ol' usa currency ...

I ordered one ... Not sure when it'll arrive here as I sent it to a friend in the states ... He'll either bring it over in MAR or maybe he'll mail it to me before then ....

my ROAM arrived before noon :D doing a little time lapse sunset test with it now... i'll post up if successful.

So cool! Can I ask a dumb dumb question? I've thinking on getting one for dirt biking and MTN biking. So, do ya record vid on a SD, then transfer it to your computer, then what? How do you get vid here or to your friends?

Thanks.

the sale ended unfortunately, just a heads up... but to your question, yes, you record vid on the card, plug in your computer then use the included software (Storyteller) to edit and upload.

you can also use other video editing software if you want.

That web page is a little weird as sometimes it would say the code was not accepted but when the final cost was shown, the price was the $89 price so be sure to drive past the code entry pay page and verify the price ...

easiest thing is to plug camera into computer with cord they give you. Once its on your pc youll need some kind of video editing software to break them down to smaller chunks you like or whatever. Then establish an account at vholder or smug mug/youtube etc so you can upload it. Once its uploaded somewhere you just post that link or send it to friends.
I have found one of the toughest things about all this process......is rewatching all the video and trying to determine whats the "cool" stuff or not. Its very time consuming sometimes.
