• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Contingency Now that KTM is involved

Ed Ventura

Husqvarna
AA Class
From the NETRA facebook page.

"We apologize but we will NOT be participating in the KTM and Husqvarna contingency program through XTRM Network, at this time. XTRM Network is a pay service that charges the organization and its members a monthly or yearly fee to use the service. We will look to KTM and Husqvarna to see if there is a better alternative to receive contingency rewards for our members. Sorry for the confusion and any inconvenience."

Contingency was one of the biggest reasons I bought a Husky one week before this mergerer.

Ed,
Husky hasn't been through Xtrim for awhile, as it was taken back in house at Husky NA. The fact that Husky NA will cease to exist in it's present form, doesn't bode well for the program. NETRA statement is inaccurate for Husky, but the point may be moot.

Norm,
Understand that it is/was in house. I am sure if with KTM NA they continuey the contingency program for Husky it will be adminstered they same way KTM does.

I just got my tee shirt and a letter from J Parker this week after i put in for contingency. Came from Husky N.America.

I've been wondering this and waiting for accurate info from a credible source. I'll be pretty chapped if there isn't a contingency program or they don't honor the exhisting program.....

Why would you not just call and ask ?

Submitted claim on Monday - got it today. Good thru 12/31/2013.
This is one of the coolest things about Husky. I made as much in Husky bucks last year as I spent in entries and gas. Used the money on new plastics and sprockets, etc. The plastics aren't horribly expensive. Pretty smart on Huskies part too - a good looking bike is good advertising for them.

The new owners will honor contingency for sure. They wont make the same mistake that BMW Canada did by not honouring CDN contingency with BMG went broke.
