• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

CO-UT Trip

Man...the colors of the trees on the second vid are spectacular! :notworthy:
I wished your camera was mounted lower so we could see hands holding a handlebar...it's the best way to watch it unless you're actually there

How lucky are you to be able to ride with your dad

So, so true... my dad is a dirtbiker at heart, but gave it up 21+ years ago. Back when I got into it (about 3 years ago) he bought a YZ250F to come out and join my son and I in the forrest. On his first trip back (in 18+ years), he got a concussion, and broke a rib about the age of 68. He is on blood thinners, and his doc said ABSOLUTELY no more. I was super bummed, as I wanted to share this with my dad, and son. It was fun to have 3 generations out there for that short time.

Believe me I know I'm lucky! I got him on a bike for the first time when he was 61, he's now 69 and has 40K mi on his FJR but this was the first time he's ridden dual sports. The only downside is it's always in the back of your mind don't get Dad hurt. At the end of the Ophir video you hear me say "O shxx"...I just looked in my mirrors and saw him drop the bike. At the end of the trip he had a few bruises on his shins (should have had motocross boots) but he was a champ!

Just got the GoPro for this trip, still figuring it out...

Truly epic place, Moab. I did the WR trail in the spring 2011 with a bunch of KLR buddies. I really loved the blue evap pools at the Potash mine at the beginning of the Ride. The TE was like cheating on a test with the KLR guys.
