  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc clutch problems

Husqvarna
AA Class
i have a problem with the clutch.i pull the clutch put it in first and the bike want to run with the clutch in help please.the clutch plates are new.

Is the pushrod adjusted? Did you have it out when you tore down the bike? Sounds like the actuator is not pushing the push rod..? Can you push the actuator in and out by hand-like theres no pressure against it inside the crankcase?

Make sure the actuator is not damage as well. The older ones have a pin that is peened over on the bottom of the actuator as opposed to the later model WRs which have a solid machined actuator shaft.

What oil? What weight? Is the engine cold? Is the cable adjusted? Have you tried adjusting the cable more? How bad does it pull? What is the actuator pushrod behind the clutch cover set up? Have you adjusted it? You said that the clutch plates are new, did it do this before you changed the clutch plates? If it didn't do this before, what else have you changed between then and now?

Dude, you have to give people more information if you want them to try to help you. You can't just say "my clutch is broken, please help."

the clutch are new the steel plates are the same the bike did the same after i change the clutch. the cable is good.if i dont pull the front brake the bike want to go and i have to stay in the throttle to prevent the bike to stall.

Did you release the cable when you adjusted the push rod? You have to have to slack in the arm and pull it out as far as possible before you adjust the rod. Then you want to set it to where there is only about 3 to 5mm of movement in the arm before you feel it touch the rod.

i think im going to sandblast the steel plates.

in the clutch? that will just create more drag and exassabate the problem, wind your cable adjustment !/2 in, and unlock the puchrod lock nut and wind the flathead screw bolt in untill you see it seperate the clutch plates, back it off slightly and see howmuch free play the lever has. i am assuming that your set up is the same as my 360 but dont sand blast the clutch plates WHATEVER you do:oldman:
