• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

choose exhaust cans...

Hi.

I have searched for opinions about exhausts on TE 630. I have to say im getting a bit confused from all answers.

Im going to keep the stock front parts, im only about to change cans.

Im about to choose between: FMF Q4 single, Leo Vince duals, or the GPR furore duals.

I dont want much more dB, all these seems to have a quiet insert.

What do you think i should go for? Does the FMF single have much more noise than the duals?

A benefit with the FMF would be that i can place a "tooltube" on the right side, where the can has been.

Would be great with some opinions, Thanks in advance...

FMF has always been a crowd pleaser at voodoo conventions, guaranteed to wake the dead from extreme decibels.

The FMF is definitely more brap-y, I prefer more of the deep mellow tone from gutted stock cans or something similar.

My FMF Powercore 4 with quiet insert is actually quieter than the stock dual cans at idle and normal throtte. Only at very high rpm throttle twists does it braap louder than stock. In the install process I lost all the cat heat, dropped 14 lbs, gained a clean right side and quieter early morning startups thus pleasing my neighbors. I think the FMF can looks great also after removing those bright colored stickers.

Does anyone know if Q4 with the quiet insert has similar dB to the powercore 4 with quiet insert?
I dont want the high braap at low rpm, and as youre describing SilverBullet, it sounds like a good setup... But i cant get the powercore for a reasonable price, only q4..

Q4 is quieter bud. I had powercore 4 with q4 insert in it and it was okay. Still quite loud. Fell out on the freeway and the seat of the pants dyno told me to never go back! Been running loud as hell for a few weeks now ;)

Does the insert shave a little from the seat of the pants dyno? I've got the Powercore 4 and have been putting off adding the quiet insert. If it does restrict power I probably won't get one.

It definitely does, even with the power commander and auto tune so its running "right" it does make a difference, the bike just does not rev as quickly.

But I have a 511. So different animal.

Ok, but i know that i wont drive it without the quiet insert because its probably too loud without it.. im not searching for the maximum power.
The main tought here is to get rid of the cat.. which are just causing trouble.. heat, powerloss and so on

i dont want it to get much louder than the oem cans.

The good thing about the leo vince and gpr is that they have the street approval here in Europe, i dont know how necessary it is but a good point.

To be safe, I would select the TE630, since the The SMR 630 is technically this:

Though they are probably using SMS/SMR interchangeably.

As for the company, never heard of them, but that is one funky can, with the wingnuts hanging out everywhere.
"Universal Installation" usually means you're on your own for mounts and inlet plumbing.

well, now i have decided. I ordered the dual Leo Vince...
They were cheapest also..
I will post a picture when mounted.

Can anybody tell me how much hassle it is to convert to single exhaust? (as opposed to slipping on the 2 cans)

I converted to the Leo single, one of the best things I have done to the 630, simple enough to do. Nice sound and weight loss. Why run two when one will work?

I dont have any pictures yet, but now im running dual leo vince. Tried to run them without quiet inserts... But they got a bit too loud...
They sound awesome even if i use the quiet insert and the best of it, you can feel a power gain. Many people has talked about weight loss when changing from stock pipes, these feels like they have the same weight as stock mufflers.
The finish and quality looks very well on these, i can recommend them.
