  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Cheap footpegs?

Jhunter

Husqvarna
AA Class
I did a search and can't find what I need. I'm looking for some 'inexpensive' foot pegs for a '08 WR250. I think the factory Yamaha or Honda pegs will work if you grind down the bolt bushing. Can anyone confirm or advise me on a cost effective set of pegs (they're going on a back up bike that my College kid will ride 3-4 times a year) - Thanks John

all foot pegs on 2 smokes are interchangeable from 95 to the end of the Italian era
not sure when the 4 strokes changed but all 2001 on i am sure will fit
go get a good used OEM set, seeing them for 40us shipped on fleabay

Ive got a set of those work well did have to cut a slither out of the corners to allow full flippy uppy ness.

Hi Dirtdame. How do you like those aluminum pegs? Does the lack of teeth through the middle of the peg cause you any grip issues? Have any of the press-in teeth loosened or come out. Thanks!

I just got them, so I will have to report on them at a later time.

How many do you need? I can remove some or measure threads think thyre the same studs on some crankbrothers peddles.

I have not ordered a set yet, just thinking if the grippers might be hard to find, since they are off brand.
If you find out, that would be great info. Thank you.

Not expensive at all, Offer fantastic grip, If the teeth get blunt you can buy just the replacement tops.
If the bike not getting ridden I spose its not worth spending your money on them but if being used a lot these are just superb.

Where can you order those Apicos? I also like the idea of replaceable teeth, but I'm leery of aluminum pegs as I've heard and read of them busting off or bending on rocks and logs, which is akin to what I ride on. Any aluminum peg users out there? What are your experiences w/them compared to steel pegs?

I put DRC footpegs on my SMS630 a couple of years ago. They were about $80 a pair. Fit and quality are excellent. I would buy them again. Cam.

Yup greedbay has em all, the ali ones dd posted are tough mothers
All i know is stay away from titanium as that and rocks dont last ali bends titanium footpegs crack n break

I bought the Apicos one ebay for my bike. The quality is top notch, they are very sharp. I might even file them down a bit if I ever got replacement cleats.

Cool. Thanks. Do they have husky specific pegs or did you order some yz or gas gas pegs?

Edit: I found some yz apico pegs on ebay but they are all blue. Couldn't find any red or grey yz pegs. Which ones did you get? Thanks!

Yeah I got the Husky specific ones, I saw the blue ones too and just couldn't do it. The company I bought mine from is now longer on ebay:confused:
