• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Teaser posted by CR22 on twitter yesterday...
Looks like CR22 not be riding Japanese in 2014 and it doesn't look orange! Have't seen any formal announcements yet. Big news if he gets on the Husky!

He's clearly near the end of his racing career but he can still get it done if he wants to. No doubt regardless of what team he goes with he will have top level support. I'm just looking forward to finally getting Husky back on the start line for big time pro level racing in the USA.

I still think it's up in the air as to what he'll do for 14. Lots of talk. Blue, Yellow, maybe green, but yes he has a white KTM right now.

I don't see a lot to gain here for husky. I have become a reed fan since he started his own team but chad is notoriously picky about bike setup and outspoken when things don't go his way. If chad races under a husky banner on a Ktm with husky graphics, which is what the new huskys will be there's a good chance he doesn't do any better than he did this year. If the bike has husky graphics everyone will say he sucks because of the bike. If the bike has ktm graphics it will be because chad is past his prime since dungey is winning on it. different public perceptions even though they are both ktms.

Not excited to possibly see one of the most popular and high profile riders on a brand that has not seen any exposure at that level in decades. Really.

I would put money on it that the forks are Works Showa not Ohlins. In saying that, I have nothing against Ohlins.

Yamaha use to be the majority owner but the founder bought back the majority of the shares so Kenth Ohlins owns 95% again and can freely develop their suspension for anyone - quiet murmur;) in MotoGP when Ohlins were accused of development bias to Yamaha when HRC switch to Ohlins in 2011.

KTM owns a majority in WP Suspension hence their factory teams are tied to WP....then again, there have always been rumours that the outers may be WP but the internals are all ohlins.

CR22 hasn't run healthy for 18 months, when he was jus as fast as RV2. This guy has won races on every color bike out there, why not orange or white(orange). He always has been the toughest gut on the line, I think he would be a good fit for Husky.

I think you're right, but once you've been your own boss it's hard to work for anyone else.
Also, can he get healthy?
Something seems to be keeping 22 down and I'm not sure they have a diagnosis.

lots of assumptions, because they are gold anodized they are Ohlins?? I've seen and you all have seen Gold Showas, Gold Paiolis, Silver(nat) Showas, KYB, Zokes, Red Zokes Blue KYB, Black zokes etc etc etc its only a color basically a "paint job". That said, I do agree that the gold does look like the s
Ohlins gold.
A White Kato fender.....but he shows red base sponsor stickers....
Chads a winner, who ever approaches him and vice versa that can come up with the best package not only to race but very importantly to make money he will go with, all the bikes at that level (Big 6 now....or Big 5.5) can be competitive.
PS this is why they call the break the silly season.

I just want to see a husky on the pro MX/SX start line on TV. We haven't seen this since Lamson (2002)/Preston (2001). As I recall, Preston won a National race on the CR 125. I don't care if its an up and coming privateer or a seasoned pro like Chad Reed, I look forward to seeing a Husky get the main event hole shot and maybe win a few races.

Here is Steve Lamson on the Ferracci Husky
