• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Not a shop fire. Carlton Complex... This fire took everything, the damn thing ran at us three days in a row then laid low and cool for two days only to jump the line and consume what it didn't get in the first passes. The Husky is damaged and is a loss. May be able to salvage some of it. Not sure yet. I need to get it to Tasky's so they can look it over. Plastics are totaled, wiring is damaged, controls are melted, motor starts but I didn't want to run it. We're insured but until I can get the house rebuilt, I can't justify a replacement. Riding season is over for at least this year.
Everybody in my family is safe (horses, cats, dog, son in law and daughter in law) and we've landed in a place for the winter. Of course we haven't got much to put into a house, but we'll work on that.
There are approx. 300+ family homes destroyed, countless other structures burned, livestock lost and wildlife killed. Fire seem to have a malice about it. Crazy shit you'd not believe... you had to be there in the moment. Not much time for pics.

Crap man did not realize that was yours. Glad you and yours are safe. That just sucks for everyone involved. I love that area up there and know some are struggling to get by before this crap. Take care.

WOW.

I haven't been through the Okanogan for quite a while. We used to ride up through there as a "back way" into the Canadian Rockies.

I'm up there a couple times a year to ride but not this year it looks like. Might just need to go up there and help.

Heading up there in 45 or so days to go hunt in the Pasayten Wilderness , my outfitter made it through just barely . He was at Alta lake .

17th day straight, 115 hours last week, only 32 so far this week. (Century Link tech)
Sure a lot of great people helping out each other.
I am a friend of a friend of that outfitter, I will tell him they got through it.

It would actually be kind of cool if you could get that burned husky running. Then deck it out with skulls all over it. Sorry for the fiure damage. When all this was going on I drove highway two through Wenatchee in waterville area. the smoke was so bad we had to creep along at 10 mph. Just zero visibility

It is beautiful here. We are surrounded by public lands. Normally great riding. It's probably still great, just balding now. This is my winter project, in addition to work, life and my skiing habit. Damn, I need a fix...
We start the house as soon as the road and land can support heavy equipment in spring. Probably late March- early April.

The Husky is still in limbo. Haven't settled that question with the insurance company yet. I hope it becomes a 2015 FE350... Otherwise my riding habit will have to wait for a year or so 'til I can afford another bike or a complete overhaul. Sucks...
