  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Productive day. I Mounted my carbon frame guards and carbon flex mudguard. Also got creative and made a heat shield from my old Ducati shield. Nothing like recycling

Go green!! I was thinking your front sprocket cover would look cool with some holes in it??

Thanks Moto. I've been thinking the same thing. Perhaps 5 holes in a circular pattern.

That could look good. I really like the look you've got with the shield and the decreasing hole sizes, matches the carbon stuff a treat. Maybe pencil it on there, have a beers, then some more, then start drilling

Well Moto, you inspired me. Thought about this at work today and I came up with a little different idea.

Hey Sandgroper, these carbon bits came from Wave Racing in Italy. Weeksy turned me on to them a few months ago while he was installing the frame guards on his bike. Then some dirt-bag stole his Husky shortly thereafter.sprocket cover 002.JPG

More pics of your bike! I like your paintwork on the Hudky lettering and logos  What other goodies do ya have on there? BTW, I didnt know you were riding SM, I hadnt seen your bike in any of your other posts

Glad to be of service my friend! You've got a unique brand theme going on there. I agree with sandgroper, that heat guard esp would sell

The frame guards came from Wave Racing in Italy. Perfect fitment. Solid, heavy duty. I'm out of material for heat shields

J.R. here's a few pics. It was a bone stocker 100th ann. when I got it in September. I have an Uptite throttle on the way and his CNC'd oil fill plug. That should finish it up. The paint detailing was time consuming, also did the hubs black and highlighted the gunsight logo on them too. $40 bucks for 3 units of brake caliper paint single stage so no activator required.

It has been a lot of fun working on it, but even more fun riding. Nobody around here rides SM. They don't know what they're missing

Looks good!! You need to show them what supermoto is all about! Let em try it out if thats within your reasoning of course. All it takes is getting one of your friends hooked, Then it just multiplies

Thanks guys! I have one buddy nibblin', I need to ride it over to his house one day. I did manage to get some friends bicycling over the years, so maybe there's hope

Don't give up on turning friends to the dark side!

Does your carbon flex mud guard rub into the swingarm like the stock one does?

If you want protective skins for your carbon fibre parts just drop me a line. I manufacture a hi tack heavy duty laminate almost identical to what you get on bike graphics kits. I can either cut them to the size and specs you need or provide it in sheet form. I have made skins for my 300 which I have had on for 3 months and they still look good as new :)

Drop me a PM if interested.

Thanks Sandgroper, I may hit you up on that. Looks good and that heavy stuff lays down well.

J.R. - no rubbing on the swingarm, but I'm street tarding so haven't jumped it any. It's identical in size and shape as the OEM mudguard, even has the gunsight logo embossed on it

Uptite baby! My throttle tube came in, fit like a gem and smooth as butter. Gonna try it out today and will start a new thread. Also got one of his trick oil fill plugs. A little customizing too.
