• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Carbon Fiber Gas Tank

This is a picture I took of Oblucki's 125 at the WEC round in Canada in 2006. Does anyone know who made the tank?

I heard someone on the east coast used to make carbon fiber stuff but I'm not sure. Lindsay P..... does that ring a bell?

Got any more pics of his bike? That is a strange looking front brake Master Cylinder. It looks to me that it is curved, maybe so it is easier to bleed.

P3 might have made that tank, but I think it came out of Italy.

As I posted in the "GMX hose" thread, you might be better off trying to hook up with a dealer over there, or even CH Racing. ZUPIN in Germany also seems to be pretty high end.

There are also these guys in Italy, http://www.crmcompositi.com/Huskvoffroad.htm
They make some CF stuff for Huskies already and I think they may have been the ones who made that 125 tank.

I think you are right it doesn't look like a P3 tank.

Thanks for the other info.

Pirie made the CF tanks for Husky US off road team in 2000 before IMS tanks were availible. Fred Hoess ran them on his 2 strokes.

Yes he did. Here's one of those tanks. This was FBF's entry into the GNCC's. The riders name escapes me right now ( Joel or something, big time eastern hotshoe, Norm you should know ).

He may have made that 2006 tank above but, for some reason I'm thinking they came from Italy.
