  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC Can anyone compare an FE250 to an Berg FE390?

I currently ride a 2010 Husaberg FE390. While I’m seriously contemplating switching to an FE250, I hesitate every time I ride my 390. The main attraction of the FE250 is that I’m hoping it will feel significantly lighter and be more nimble. I only weigh 150 lbs, and I ride rocky, single track so I don’t need the power of my 390 and certainly don’t need the weight. But the Husaberg is just so great in the nasty, rocky stuff, that I really wonder if the FE250 will be as good. Prior to the Husaberg, I rode 250fs so power is not an issue. I really don’t want/need the FE350. If anyone has experience on a FE390 and can compare it to the FE250 (especially on rocky single track), I’d really appreciate it. Thanks.

I have never ridden a 390 Berg but alot of everything else and my Fe250 is awesome ,its light and plush take roots and crap on knarly up hills fantastic and the more you turn the throttle the faster it goes easy bike to ride fast in the woods maybe a bit plush for high speed stuff in the desert. And they are on sale every where now for $1000 to $1300 off on 2014 we have 3 left .Dirt bike chose TE300 and Fe250 as thier favorites.

Thanks BillF. That agrees with everything I've read, but I think I need to ride one before I spend the money.
Maybe you Hagee can hit the NW gathering in Bend Oregon next week it will there to ride at East fort rock camp 25 for 4 days.

Have the last of the Husabergs - the 2014 FE250. Great handling, plush suspension that even holds up on the faster stuff and very versatile motor.

I rode a 390 back to back with my TXC 449 and the 390 felt heavy and slow. My FE 350 feels much more nimbler than either of them

We picked up a 2014 FE250 for a young rider and it is a good bike overall but under powered. This bike lacked low end and you need to ride up in the mid to top for good power. Otherwise it needs an exhaust which we did and gave it the needed low end snap. For the money (sales/rebates) its a good buy otherwise if it's near MSRP there's other better bikes out there. JMO
