  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Can 2011 310TE be lowered?

I spoke to a local Husky dealer recently and as I am interested in getting a new 2011 310TE and am height challenged, I inquired about getting the bike lowered. He told me that the 2011 310TE has new suspension components that can't be lowered? Is this true and if so why? Would I have to change the shock or forks?
Thanks,
New to Huskys,
Harvey

Just a thought but have you looked at the GasGas bikes? A buddy of mine who is same or maybe shorter than yourself loves his Gassers since they are quite small bikes. The Husky's are tall. Some of the tallest I think. Easy enough to lower as posted by others though. Happy trails!

Jaro 51,
here in Calif. I need a street legal bike. Does Gas Gas make any light weight street legal models?

2011 frame upgrade ???

Hi All
I did a search to find this thread. I to am on the short side 30 inch
inseam and my 2011 TE 250 is a little tall on the street for me. I ordered
the KoubaLink 2008-up HL8-1 (1 inch) it was on my doorstep 3 days
later. Great product with great support:thumbsup: after I installed it
I did not like the fit (minimal clearance with the frame in front). I e-mailed Norm today to give him a heads-up on 2011 upgrade, hope to hear from
him?

Thanks to Cafe Husky I learned of the best option. Husqvarna Special
Parts has a lower seat -35mm $180 this will be all I need.:) I tried to
order the bike with it, but didn't want to wait. I should have it in a week and half the dealer says. :applause:

other issues on lowering the bike: Kick-Stand

So how did the seat work out? I cut mine to much and need a replacement.
there is a fine line in the seat .........i take about 40mm out of all husky seats and never a problem ..but most riders that use the seat ride in the race/stance pos and works well and when seated and fit into the bike well when sitting
ps..yamafreek got the gearing sorted with out cheating auto clutch,,LOL
