• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bruce Brown passed @ 80 (On any Sunday)

As a surfer and motorcycle enthusiast I was saddened to learn that as well. What a full life he lived and I'm so grateful to the legacy he left. I own all of his surf films and a couple renditions of On Any Sunday, they are kept in our camper to watch when we are on a surf or moto trip. His quirky narration and humor gave us a glimpse of the innocent bygone days(in my case) before Hollywood and the media gobbled up the surf and motorcycle culture and turned them into profit margins. Genuine dedication to get "the shot" and a filming style that put you right there in the moment before go-pros and drones. Godspeed Bruce and thank you for making the world a better place!

When I was a boy, my brother and I would ride our skateboards from Santa Ana Heights to the Mesa Theater to watch His films. The trip home was always us trying to imitate the surfers. That was a great time. RIP Bruce/Brother. Ride that wave and don't kick out.

That movie etched into my mind the name Malcolm Smith, ISDE, etc. When my boys were younger we watched it at least every 6 months, RIP

Never knew or forgot who made that movie but I have to take my hat off for this guy .. After seeing his movie, I purchased a '76 CR 250 Husky a yr or so later and have ridden this brand ever since then to this very day; I'll finish off my riding days on a Husky due greatly to this mans' work ...

That article has some funny stuff in there and I've always thought he inspired lots of people like me to ride Huskies but he might have had a much greater impact on USA motorcycle riding than I thought. Always sad to me to see elders like this guy go on their way. But he made his mark and contributed greatly.

Go and buy the updated versions of "On any Sunday" , there's "On Any Sunday revisted" & "On Any Sunday, the next chapter"

They both have some great interviews with him and his son, besides a ton of footage that didn't make in to the original film.

I own all the on any Sunday bruce brown videos. They have no clue how many they inspired along the way.
I’m sure Bruce’s son will carry on the next versions of on any sunday.

I think everyone’s alter ego wants to be Malcolm Smith or Steve McQueen. Even Mert Lawell on the dirt track. All the dirt track racers in that era were living on the edge for sure.
