• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Wow, that's pretty cool. I pay more than that, I wouldn't even care if they were my size. I sure the heck wouldn't wear them. Just polish them and put them up on the mantel.
 
Whoa! Cool boots! Give `em a good coat of some leather conditioning stuff and keep `em lookin' good!

We just picked up a pair of gajillion-dollar Sidi Crossfires for a friend of ours. He wanted all black but we told him all they had were the black ones with blue on them. I think I'm going to steal your photo and send it to him, showing him the blue on his new Sidi boots :lol:

I intend to wipe 'em down with some Lysol to kill off the mildew and then put generous amounts of leather conditioner and water repellent stuff on 'em.
 
Awesome find****************************************!! Thanks for reminding me how old I am****************************************! One of my riding buddies back in the day had a pair if those while we were still in the old telephone "Lineman" boots....... Don't thow away the box either........

That box has kicked the bucket. Water damage and mildew have taken their toll through the years and although the top looks like it is in one piece, the bottom is falling to tatters. If I wasn't already up to my eyeballs in "collectible" trash, I would consider keeping it. Some photos will have to do. It isn't fit for storing the boots anymore. They need to stay out in circulating air to keep the mildew at bay and are already lined up with all my other dirt boots under the "MX" clothing rack in the hall.:busted:

Not only do I have the vintage boots, but I just brought home a pair of Gary Semic's old Hallman GP pants. Crappity, he was a tiny guy when he raced back in the early 70s.:D
 
Bwah.....I don't think that these had ever been washed before I tossed them into the washing machine this morning.:doh: They aren't just clean now....they're OXYCLEAN!:D

The boots were. The pants may look good from the back but are in pretty ratty condition. The leather cleaned up nicely, but some of the lining has decomposed and come apart. The knees are shredded and there is a rip in one of the shins. Lucklily, they didn't cost me anything.:D
